Objectifs


PRESENTATION AND OBJECTIVES

The first-year* of the master’s degree program in « International and European Law » is a French national degree, taught in English, fully recognized in Europe and complying with the Bologna process. This one-year program equals 60 credits in the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).
The MIEL aims at giving students a thorough knowledge of the private and public aspects of international and European legal issues. The program offers a comparative perspective, focuses on methodology with a view to provide the students with the tools needed for them to hold positions as lawyers in an international and European context.

* In the French system, the master program is divided into two years : Master 1 (first-year of Master) and Master 2 (second-year of Master). It is possible to apply either for Master 1 or Master 2.

Admission Criteria

    • A three-year degree in law is required, equivalent to 180 ECTS (European credits), i.e. Bachelor’s degree, Licence or equivalent. Other qualifications and area of study may be considered by the Admission Committee.
    • Students must have an adequate command of the English language to enrol. An applicant's English proficiency level may be demonstrated by means of score reports of recognized exams, tests or certificates (equivalent to B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ) or by any relevant means (study experience in a program taught in English…).

      Application and registration

      • All the candidates have to submit a paper application. This application form will be downloadable from this page in mid April.
      • The assessment of the application is based on academic achievements, English proficiency, personal experiences (international and/or professional) and motivation.
        • Deadline of the sending : 20 May 2016 (as attested by postmark)
        • We will let you know whether or not you have been admitted in June.
      • IMPORTANT. Non European Union applicants : according to your country of origin and/or residence, you may have to follow a specific process with an earlier deadline. Get in touch with the Campus France office in your country.
      • If you are selected for this program, the registration will take place at the university in September.

      • Tort law - 12h - 3 ECTS
      • Labor Law and Corporate Liability - 18h - 3 ECTS
      • French or intensive English (for French speakers) – 12,5h - 3 ECTS

      Poursuite d'études

      t the end of the diploma, students who pass the exams, acquire 60 ECTS credits and are especially entitled to apply for the second year of the Master’s degree in France.

      In particular, the MIEL gives the opportunity to apply for the second year of one of the Master’s degree programs taught in English (or both in English or French) at Toulouse 1 Capitole University, in the following areas of study :

      • Comparative International Law,
      • International Business Law,
      • International Economic Law,
      • Private International Law.
